2025 CVIOS ANNUAL ORCHID SHOW & SALE - RECAP!
Our 2025 Central Vancouver Island Society Orchid Show and Sale is in the books and it was outstanding. Thank you to Nanaimo North Town Centre for allowing us to hold our show at their central atrium again this year. I would also like to thank Paramount Orchids, Bryan’s Specialty Plants, Windowsill Orchids, our newest vendor, Koch orchids and Vancouver and Victoria Orchids societies for attending the show. Along with our own member plants, there were over 250 stunning orchids on display this year.
Thanks to the artists from Nanaimo Harbour City Seniors group at the Bowen Complex and Harbour City Photography Club for their striking additions of orchid artwork to the show this year. We are lucky to have some amazing local artists.
Thank you as well to Nicole Ta for her delicate orchid origami and informative display of Orchids of North America. Paper and instructions were provided for visitors to take home and make their own orchid flowers.
Our Silent Auction items of Orchid Bark Mix and Fertilizer were generously provided by Cinnabar Valley Farms (their products are available at local garden centres) and Paramount Orchids. The orchid repotting mats were made by Vicki Esplen. Thank you so very much.
Thank you to our visitors who took the time to vote for our People’s Choice Award for best display. I am thrilled to announce that Central Vancouver Island Orchid Society was the winner.
A large part of the success of the show goes to our Central Vancouver Island Orchid Society members for volunteering their time and effort from set-up on the Thursday afternoon to take-down on Sunday afternoon. Thank you all.
